The Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Proudhadevaraya Institute of Technology (PDIT), Hosapete, in association with AMSA Embedded Solutions, Hubballi, organized a two-day workshop on “Internet of Things (IoT)” for third-semester students. The workshop aimed to provide in-depth practical exposure to IoT concepts, covering both syllabus-based experiments and additional advanced topics beyond the curriculum.

Objective of the Workshop
The primary objective of the workshop was to bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world applications. It focused on imparting both theoretical and hands-on knowledge of IoT systems, including device interfacing, communication protocols, and cloud integration. The sessions were designed to help students develop the technical skills required for building IoT-based smart solutions.

Workshop Highlights
The two-day workshop featured a blend of lectures, live demonstrations, and practical sessions conducted by experienced trainers from AMSA Embedded Solutions, Hubballi.
Key topics covered during the workshop included:
• Introduction to IoT architecture and its components
• Interfacing of sensors and actuators with microcontrollers
• Communication protocols (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, MQTT)
• Real-time data acquisition and cloud connectivity
• Practical sessions using NodeMCU and ESP32 boards
• Mini projects based on smart home and automation concepts

Approximately 100 students from the third semester actively participated in the workshop. They enthusiastically engaged in hands-on sessions, gaining valuable experience in programming and deploying IoT devices. The resource persons demonstrated real-world IoT applications, making the learning process interactive and industry-oriented.

Outcome of the Workshop
The workshop proved to be highly beneficial for the participants. It not only covered the IoT Lab syllabus prescribed by the university but also introduced students to industrial use cases and project development practices. By the end of the workshop, students were able to design, connect, and monitor IoT-based systems independently, enhancing their understanding of embedded systems, networking, and data management.

Acknowledgment
The Department of Computer Science and Engineering extends sincere gratitude to AMSA Embedded Solutions, Hubballi, for their collaboration in organizing this workshop.
The department acknowledges the valuable contributions of the resource persons — Mr. Sagar and Mr. Vinayak — for their expert sessions and hands-on demonstrations that made the workshop highly engaging and informative.

Special thanks to the Faculty Coordinator, Prof. Malatesh Kamatar, for his continuous guidance and efforts in coordinating the entire event successfully.

The department also extends heartfelt gratitude to the Head of the Department, Dr. Parvati Kadli, for her constant support, encouragement, and motivation in organizing such skill-enriching programs for students.

Conclusion
The IoT Workshop successfully achieved its objectives by combining academic content with practical exposure. The workshop received an overwhelming response from students and served as a valuable platform for experiential learning, innovation, and technological skill development in the field of IoT.
